Rebecca Hinkle Receives Scholarship for Musical Excellence
The NEPA’s Got Talent Show Committee, along with Andrea Bogusko, Chairperson of the Talent Show and President of the Northeast Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association (NEPMTA), presented a college scholarship to Rebecca Hinkle.
Rebecca, the daughter of Bob and Donna Hinkle of Weatherly, earned this recognition through her outstanding dedication and accomplishments in music. Through NEPMTA, she qualified to perform multiple times at Carnegie Hall. She has also shared her talents by singing and playing violin at numerous community events, recitals, concerts, special occasions, and musical theatre productions.
Rebecca studied under Marian Kovacsics, a member of NEPMTA, and will continue her musical journey this fall as she begins her studies in music at Messiah University.

NE Pa Music Teachers Association awards music scholarships
The NE Pa Music Teachers Association (NEPMTA) recently awarded music scholarships to 3 HS Seniors who intend to major or minor in music and the arts in college. Proceeds from the NEPMTA annual Luzerne County & Beyond Got Talent Show held in March at the F. M. Kirby Center allowed the group to present scholarships to the following: Ashley Greening, attending Villanova University, Quinn Healey, attending University of Southern California, and Jonathan You, attending Stanford University.
Ashley Greening is a piano student of NEPMTA member Michele Malinko, Quinn Healey, piano student of NEPMTA member Judith Fedor, and Jonathan You, viola student of NEPMTA member Mary Ann Saylor.

Normandy Beach Proclamation Presented Recently
State Representative Eddie Day Pashinski is shown presenting Andrea Bogusko, representing Ne Pa Music Teachers Association, a Proclamation from the state of Pa. to be displayed at the Normandy American Cemetery Museum, Omaha Beach, France, thanking France for the Normandy American Cemetery and recognizing the service, achievements, and sacrifices of the US Armed Forces who have served overseas since 1917, many of whom are buried in the Normandy American Cemetery. These gallant American soldiers, who rest forever near the beach-head they won, and in the land they helped to free, will never be forgotten.
In 2nd photo Andrea Bogusko, on left, is shown delivering the Proclamation from Pa. to Katia Lemerre Director of the Normandy Visitor Center, who was very grateful to receive the proclamation and immediately placed it in their display case in the Museum for the thousands of daily visitors to observe. Mr. Scott Desjardins is the acting Superintendent of the American Battle Monuments Commission. 
Congress established in 1923 the building of the Normandy American Cemetery, and the Museum which has displays of D-Day information, the Normandy Campaign, and Omaha Beach. Daily taps and a memorial service are held at the cemetery. All the above sites were visited by Andrea Bogusko and the travel group, with tour guides presenting the history of the WW II overseas battles. It was a very emotional and educational trip which conveyed the great sacrifices and service our Veterans made to protect our freedoms.
Mary Stegmaier Mansion Gala Dinner & Recital held recently
The NE PA Music Teachers Association recently held their 4th annual Gala Dinner & Recital at the Mary Stegmaier Mansion, announced Chairperson for the event, Andrea Bogusko.
NEPMTA teachers whose students performed at the recital included: Bogusko, Judith Fedor, Harvey Feldman, Susan Gorman, and Narda Sperrazza.
Guests enjoyed a 4 course meal followed by an evening of piano and vocal music in the elegant setting of the Mary Stegmaier Mansion, Wilkes-Barre. The performers reside in the Wilkes-Barre, Scranton and Pocono Pines areas , and performed one piece each, including music by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Schubert, and contemporary composers to the delight of the audience.

Veterans receive piano donation
NE Pa Music Teachers Association recently donated a piano with proceeds from their annual NEPMTA Luzerne County & Beyond Got Talent Show held in March at the F. M. Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre, to the Veterans Administration, Community Living Center, in Wilkes-Barre. Veterans will have use of the piano, as well as performers from NEPMTA and various groups featured in music programs for the veterans. 3 scholarships to HS Seniors going into music in college were also donated by NEPMTA through the Talent Show proceeds.
